((part 2)) last weekend…
… we spent hours prepping and setting up her reception tent. after we spent a couple hours getting her favors done we carpooled to the site and spent another 3-ish hours getting the tables/tent set up.

and then i watched my cousin/best friend get married.

the boys were her ring bearers.
she actually only wanted Albert, but i told her she should’ve known better, as illustrated by the following picture of Albert and his shadow, more commonly known as Amare.
the beach was right off the ceremony site so of course, the boys had to go play in the sand. if they weren’t wearing shoes, they probably would’ve been in the water.
Albert was joined by the groom’s nephew. they’d met once before and have a TON of fun together. (Albert is the short one on the right if you didn’t know)
and then we got to drink and watch the sun set. and then drink some more.
the hubs and i had a blast. and we definitely want to go back… maybe one day just the two of us. and next time, hopefully without the farmer’s tan.
took me a couple days to get back into a home routine, even without the excuse of jet lag. haha. spent the weekend tidying up and crafting, always a good thing. i hope you have a good start to your week!! it’s the last FULL week of school for Albert. then he’ll be home for a couple weeks and then off to summer school half-day. love it!

((part 1)) last weekend…
… we drove to the north shore/kahuku via la`ie for a fun weekend vacay. this is Chinaman’s Hat. and some fishermen.
we drove for about 45 minutes past shoreline like these:
when we checked into our villa, the first thing we did was go out the lanai (patio) and check out the beach, which was right over the wall of our “backyard”.
the hubs wanted to check out the rocks and scope out some potential late-night fishing spots.
Albert and i got tired of navigating the rocks and decided to look for creatures on the shoreline. he asked if he could walk in the water and i said “sure”
and in hindsight, i should have expected that he would walk IN the water.
and if you’ve ever walked in water with slippers (flip-flops) you know that it’s probable that you’ll lose one of them.
and quite possibly my favorite pictures from the whole weekend.
back tomorrow with the rest of the pictures!

rain, rain, go away…
but in the mean time, thanks for the beautiful lighting and for giving me 10-minute periods of no rain to run the kiddos outside and take some shots. and most importantly, thanks for letting me play with my dream of going pro. =o)

zoo day
sorry i haven’t been around much but i wanted to share some pictures from our day at the zoo on wednesday. BIL invited us to join him and his 2 kiddos and of course, my 2 kiddos couldn’t resist it because A) it’s the zoo, and B) it’s time with cousins. 3 weeks of pneumonia and not leaving the house made me a little stir-crazy and although going to the stinky zoo isn’t my idea of a fun day out, we got to spend it together as a family and that’s always fun.
i promise i’m working my way back to the craft table and will have some goodies to share!! ttyl

2 things to share :)
just a quickie, i’ve got 2 things to share. J has the day off and we’re going to the pool… its only open for 2 hours (3-5p) because of summer fun so we’re trying to get all our errands done so we can take full advantage of it!
the first thing to share is the composition book i altered for albert… he needed one for summer school
just a quickie, took me all of 10 minutes to do. i wanted to keep it as flat as possible, i figured he wouldn’t exactly be gentle with it and the more things that stood off the cover and could snag and rip, would. murphy’s law, or something like it, right??

paper by pebbles inc
the second is a quickie layout i made for a few challenges: Sketch #193 and Inspiration Found #42, both from SCS, as well as Shimelle’s Color Challenge #5 – Use color in a symbolic way. its all about the YELLOW
its actually a color i don’t tend to scrap with but i have a hefty handful
i actually intended on this being a school themed page but i couldn’t get my printer to print out any pictures in normal colors… my kids aren’t purple and brown… so i went through my picture stash and made it work!! sorry about the weird angle, the background paper is lace paper by KI Memories and wherever you see that white is actually the chipboard backing that’s supporting the page… it wouldn’t stand any other way and i couldn’t shoot it straight on because of the glare. i’ll get better at my pictures i promise!!

journaling talks about how rare it is to catch albert on camera NOT smiling because of his love to play and the energy he exudes all the time, and about how he brightens up the room around him just by being in it.
lace paper by ki memories, PP by american crafts, yellow polka dot paper from DCWV stack, punch by marvy, rubons by heidi grace.

02-27 PCC field trip & then some…
Pictures from our field trip to the PCC – Polynesian Cultural Center. Cold, windy and a little bit of rain. if you leave your cursor over the picture it’ll tell you what it’s of… i’m still trying to figure out this blogging thing so bear with me please!

And then after school we hit the doctors for Albert’s yearly physical. This is him (and Amare) before the shots… yuppers… 4 shots AND a TB test. oh, AND NO NAP. Safe to say he was pretty pissed about it!! But we made up for it with a shopping spree to Build-A-Bear. Spent all of his birthday gift cards and then some. But we have new friends (both boys got one) and new clothes/accessories and I will get the pictures up soon!!
