In the Sky w/KBD

KittyBeeDesigns-Banner

Yesterday was Aloha Friday which means it’s challenge time over at Kitty Bee Designs’ Aloha Friday Challenges!  The theme for this challenge is “In the Sky” and we’re sponsored by MilkCoffee.  I just love these digis!  So cute and fun!!  I had the hardest time pulling this one together though.  Don’t know why… I think it was the pink dress.  I couldn’t figure out what to pair her with because I have so little pink in my stash.  All boys will do that to you!!!

I found this PP already cut down and thought it worked nicely together.  So happy to have been able to play along this challenge!!  Come stop by KBD and join in the fun!!

Miss Lilly Reporter w/LBBS

lbbs

It’s New Release time over at Little Blue Button Stamps!  Today I’m sharing Miss Lilly Reporter and she can be found on the New Release page of the store!!

I did something new with her outfit… I made the patch on her hat and her skirt PLAID!!!  haha.  This is the first time I’ve done something like this and I am so happy with how it came out!  And I love this brown… it’s E44, E43, E42, E41, E40 combo… so fun!!   The “around the world” sentiment is actually a sticker from a travel set that I’ve had for years (surprise, surprise right?!?) and the color matched perfectly!!  Yay!!

Come swing by the LBBS blog and see what else is new!!

Lucy Loo Hair w/TEW

Blogbanner2015spring

It’s time for a new release from The East Wind!!  This is “Lucy Loo ‘Hair’ (MAC0212)” and she can be found in The East Wind Etsy Store.  I just ADORE her.  And once again, I knew I wanted to give her a super fun hair color.  So I went with blue.   And not a bright turquoise blue either… but the color combo I usually use for jeans/denim!!!  That’s B90’s if you’re interested!!!  And I left off the sentiment… not sure what to use her for yet.  Maybe just a random ‘dropping a note’ kind of card.  If anything I can always just add on a little banner sentiment!!

DTBST #296 w/SSD

SassyStudioDesigns-DTBSTBadge

It’s Dare To Be Sassy Thursday over at Sassy Studio Designs!!  This week is DTBST #296 and the theme is “How Does Your Garden Grow? (use flowers).”  I used “Garden Party Buttercream Babe” to make this card.  She was a CHALLENGE to color up simply because I didn’t know what colors to use!!  I started with a rose pink, and then added the yellow… and then went with a beige/tan to finish it off.  I sat there and stared and stared at this card until I finished it… and then it wasn’t until I finished the card that I looked at it and felt good about it.

I’m definitely going to color her up again soon.  I think I need to browse around for color combo inspiration first though!! haha.

Hope you come join us for this week’s DTBST!!

One Day Fae w/FAE

Hurry hurry and hop on over to Faery Ink!!   Today’s the day for the monthly One Day Fae Giveaway!!  You can get this cutie, “Destiny Pumpkin Fae” for free but only for 24 hours!!

I made a fall-ish card with her.  Fall doesn’t really happen here in Hawaii so I don’t really get to enjoy these colors in nature!  And I know the orange is really strong but I wanted to make something with this pumpkin embossed panel I had in my stash… although you can’t really see much of the panel in the end lol!!  hmmm… this might be another rip-apart and re-do card!!

Anywhoo, make sure you swing over to Faery Ink and grab her!  And just FYI: the blog/owner is on EST (Eastern) so make sure you check the time difference so you can get her while she’s free.  Case in point: I’m posting this on the 26th at 6pm HI time because that’s midnight EST and she’s live… don’t want you to miss out!!

BFF New Release w/TEW

Blogbanner2015spring

It’s time for a new release from The East Wind!!  This is “BFF (MAC0211)” and they can be found in The East Wind Etsy Store.  Now this is not something I normally would have chosen to play with but there was just something about these friends… And I can’t even ride a bike very well so that DEFINITELY wasn’t my motivation behind choosing to play with this image!!

Just a quickie for me today… my semester started yesterday (Monday) so I’m still adjusting to a new schedule!!  It’s full, but not as full as my summer schedule so that’s a nice break!!

Come swing by The East Wind Facebook Group and see what else is new!!

Saloon Girl Bella w/SSD

It’s time for a Faery Ink New Release!!  This sassy lady is Saloon Girl Bella.  She can be found in the “Newest Digis” category of the Faery Ink shop!!

I had the hardest time with this digi.  I don’t know why but I just couldn’t wrap my head around colors for her.  I’m honestly not super comfortable with blacks/dark greys but for the life of me I NEEDED to make her dress black.  And stupid, hard-head me couldn’t force myself to change my mind once I had that idea in my brain.  So I ran with it.  And it’s not horrible, but definitely not something I’m dance-around-the-room happy about.  But once I got her on the card, I was okay.  I am happy with her now!!  I wish I could rock knee-high boots like that!!! haha!!

Come see what else is new, there’s so much super awesomely fun images to choose from this month!!

All About the Hair FB Challenge w/TEW

Blogbanner2015spring

Two The East Wind things to post about today… a new release and a new monthly TEW Facebook challenge!!

First off is the new release… this is Aurora ‘Holly & Olive’ (MAC0210) (in The East Wind Etsy Store) and she is so lovely… I just adore her crown!  But I will be honest… I stared at her for the longest time trying to figure out how to color under her crown and after I did, if I was okay with all that white space.  After consulting some of my fellow TEW teamies I decided it was okay, and left her alone!

And now onto our Facebook Challenge.  The challenge this month is “All About the Hair!!”  Use any image with fun hair style or colours.

This is Lucy Loo Close Up (MAC0041) and she can be found in The East Wind Etsy Store.  I chose her because of all that hair!!!!!  I just couldn’t resist.  I know it’s not a super crazy hair style but I had a lot of fun with the colors!!  So I knew I wanted to do a color fade but wasn’t sure how exactly I wanted it done.  And to be honest, this is TOTALLY NOT WHAT I HAD IN MIND.  haha!!!  I wanted to start green at her roots and fade to pink at her tips… but then I was in the middle of a conversation with a friend while I started coloring and forgot my plan.  lol.  So I changed the plan to have pink highlights instead.  And it’s kind of weird, but it grew on me and I really like it now!!

So what do you think?  It definitely could be considered a fun color combo!!!  Come swing by The East Wind Facebook Group and see what else is new and join in our challenge!!

The basic rules (more found in the Facebook Group) are:

  • Use TEW digi stamps!
  • HAND COLOURED – NO DIGITAL
  • You can upload as many creations as you want

DTBST #295 w/SSD

SassyStudioDesigns-DTBSTBadge

It’s Dare To Be Sassy Thursday over at Sassy Studio Designs!!  This week is DTBST #295 and the theme is “For the Boys/Masculine.”  I used “Lager Sassy” to make this card… I definitely wanted to keep the colors more manly and keep the card itself SUPER CAS.  Most guys, hubby included, don’t care much for things on the card.  haha.  So I figure in this case, less is definitely more!

Hope you come join us this week for DTBST!!

Red String w/SSz

banner

I’m here today with another post for Star Stampz!   This is “Red String” and she can be found in the Star Stampz Etsy Store.

Do you know the significance of the red string/red string of fate in East Asian culture??  Well here’s your lesson!!  haha.

The kami (gods) are said to tie an invisible red string of fate (or marriage) around the pinkies (or ankles) of two people who are destined to meet and help each other in one way or another.  It’s typically romanticized to mean destined souls or lovers… like soul mates.  The folklore usually has a boy who is mean to a girl and then ends up marrying her.  The belief also comes from Chinese culture, but in Chinese culture, the string is typically tied around the ankle… this cutie has her red string around her pinky, so that means it’s Japanese.

When I saw the name of this digi and saw the digi itself, I KNEW I wanted to play with it.  It’s such a romantic thing in a lot of anime/manga/fanfiction for two people to be destined soul mates and bound by the red string of fate and I’m definitely a sucker for it!!!  Look at my inner Otaku coming out!! hehehe!!!

Thanks for stopping by today!!!  See you again soon, friends!!
