Birthday Duck w/Kinda Cute

Hello friends! Sharing another card using an amazing digi from the Kinda Cute by Patricia shop! This here is Duck with Presents (Kinda Cute Shop, Etsy) and I think he was perfect for a little boy’s birthday card!!

And I apologize so dearly for the darkness of the pictures – my photo editor has been giving me grief and making my life so much more difficult than it needs to be! I just couldn’t get the picture to come out nice and white and bright!!

Bedtime Girls w/Whimsie Doodles

Whimsie Doodles Banner

I’m blogging over at Whimsie Doodles today with two quick cards for a pair of sweet little twin girls!

I get to see them this weekend and this is their belated Valentine’s card from me 🙂

This sweetie is Bed Time Lizzie towards the bottom of the What’s New page. She’s just so cute. And I love that she’s holding a little kitty instead of a teddy! My kind of girl!!

I colored her up with my Copics and then paired her with this cloud and stars paper, a perfect match!! Thanks for stopping by and I’ll see you again soon!!

Christmas Cards w/Kinda Cute

Hello friends! Sharing some Christmas cards using some digis I colored up last month from the Kinda Cute by Patricia shop! I was on such a time crunch trying to get everything done before we left for our Japan trip that I only managed to color them… And now I finally found time to get them made into cards and posted!!

Snowman Taking Photos (Kinda Cute Shop)

Santa Claus Sketch (Kinda Cute Shop, Etsy)

Christmas Train (Kinda Cute Shop, Etsy)

Woo-hoo! 3 cards done for 2018 already… let’s see if I can keep ahead of the game this year!! And to try to keep myself on track, I’m aiming to make 12 Christmas cards per month, which x11 months (since January has come and gone already!) means I’ll have made more than the 125 I usually send out every year. Not sure if I can make another NINE by the end of the month, but I’ll try!!

Christmas Card Challenge: 3/12 for February; 3/132 for the year!

What’s Kraken w/CCS

Hi Friends!! It’s a bittersweet posting day for me today on the CutCardstock blog… I’m sharing my final post with the team! For this one, I decided to have some fun and create a super fun watercolor card.

I started with some beautiful Classic Crest cardstock in Solar White. The thickness of the Classic Crest cardstock made it really nice for watercolors… Like with a lot of non-watercolor specific paper, it warped when it got wet but only minimally. I’ve had other papers warp so much worse!!

The first thing I did was cut down the Classic Crest cardstock to 4″x5.25″ and then cut down 2 more pieces as my card bases.

Then I got out some of my Distress Oxide inks in sea-ish colors. I used one of my bigger acrylic blocks and smudged a little bit of ink on it directly from the ink pad. Then I took a larger round brush and a little bit of water and went to work!!

I added a brush-full of water onto each of the ink spots and then painted it onto my card.

I then used ths super cute stamp on some scrap  Classic Crest cardstock and colored it up with my Copics before fussy-cutting it with some scissors.

I stamped some bubbles all over the card base, stamped out my sentiment, and then put it all together!

I also used some 3D squares to pop this cutie up and give my card a little bit of dimension.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! I’m so grateful for my time on this wonderful team and look forward to what the new DT members create!! Make sure to stay up to date with the latest news and sales on the CutCardstock Facebook Page!!

Fog my Spectacles w/Eyelet Outlet

Hi Friends! I’m on the Eyelet Outlet blog today to share another fun project with you!!

Today’s card features the Women’s Eye Glass Brads. They come in black and bright pink and when I saw them I knew I wanted to do something kind of sassy because they just screamed SASS to me!! Just look at how sassy they are haha!!! And I made them as a belated GALentines card for a friend of mine.

I paired them with this bright pink and grey paper, and then added this super funny sentiment from Paper Smooches to it.

My friend is just gonna love this card!! She always forgets that she has glasses on and ends up wearing two or three pairs… one on her face, one on top of her head, and one tucked into her shirt collar. haha!! I’m sure we all have a friend like that, right??

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you again soon!!

Ballerina Pink w/Kinda Cute

Hello friends! Sharing another card using an amazing digi from the Kinda Cute by Patricia shop! This sweetie is Ballerina and she is just too adorable. If you’ve visited me before, you might know that pink and girly is not really my thing!! But I couldn’t resist doing the pink AND the girly with this card!!

I colored her up with my Copics and then added her to some super cute floral paper that I’ve had forever. I want to say maybe 2010? haha. SERIOUSLY. I’ve had a paper hoarding problem that I’m trying super hard to work through! And I’ve been pretty good about buying recently too 🙂 Yay me!!

Congrats (wishes do come true)! w/CCS

Hi Friends!! I’m blogging over at the CutCardstock blog today 🙂 with a super fun card to celebrate something good in someone’s life!

I started with some beautiful Classic Crest cardstock in Solar White. I knew I wanted to focus on the stamping with this card because this Classic Crest cardstock takes so well to ink!! It’s so smooth too… one of my favorite white cardstocks to work with.

I started with this ink splotch shape in the lightest yellow ink I had on hand. And I thought it was too dark at first but then it grew on me and I’m super happy with the brightness of the yellow!!

I overlaid it with this half-circle of rays… lol I’m not quite sure what to call this but it’s like a sunrise/sunset of sunrays. You get the idea!! I used the darkest yellow color I had on hand. It came out a little brown for my taste… I wanted something a bit brighter I think!!

Once I stamped out the top half of the rays, I rotated the stamp so that I would get a full circle of rays and then stamped again!!

Here you can see that the middle got a little messy. I really wanted to make sure that the rays would be sticking out all the way around without too many gaps, and that meant I had to overlap my middle a little more than I would have liked. But it’s okay, we can hide that!!

I stamped out my sentiments on scrap strips of Classic Crest cardstock in Solar White. I made sure to use a nice, juicy pigment ink so that my black sentiment came out thick and dark!

I then matted both sentiments using some Curious Metallic in Blue because I wanted that would be dark and stand out against the bright white and yellow on the card. I also thought the shimmer in the Curious Metallic Cardstocks would be a nice complement without being too distracting!!

After trimming off that tail on the “wishes come true” sentiment, I stuck down the “congrats” banner with some pop dots and then stuck the whole front onto my A2 card.

And ta-dah!! Again, I LOVE LOVE LOVE stamping on this Classic Crest cardstock. Somehow, it makes all the cards come out prettier!! haha!!

Rainbow of Love!

Hi Friends!! I’m blogging over at the CutCardstock blog today 🙂 with a super fun and bright card for a very special someone!

I started with some super fun Astrobrights Cardstock. When I looked at this pack tonight I thought, this is a RAINBOW of colors to choose from, and then went “duh! Let’s do a rainbow card!” And apologies for being so crazy… we just got back from an almost 2 week trip to Japan and my mind is still not quite home yet!!

I pulled the following colors because I thought they were perfect rainbow colors:

And then cut each of them down to 3.75″ x 5″ pieces. Then I cut that piece down into thirds, ending up with 1.25″ x 5″ pieces.

I ran each of those pieces through my diecut machine… And to make sure they all would line up with the same curve, I used the first piece I cut as a guide (with a little bit of washi to hold it in place!)

And then took off the guide piece before I actually die-cut… I didn’t want to leave any funky extra impressions on either piece!

I totally thought I had measured correctly and ended up being wrong lol! I told you my brain was not quite home yet!! But I lined up my pieces on a piece of Eclipse Black Astrobrights Cardstock cut to a regular mat size, 4″ x 5.25″ starting with the purple and then working backwards to the red side.

My fix was to add an extra wave of pink! I think pink can appropriately be placed in a rainbow, don’t you?? haha! I stamped out the you and always from a Paper Smooches set I had – love how there are so many different fonts in this one to make it look different!! The last thing I did was cut the “love” sentiment out of another piece of Eclipse Black Astrobrights Cardstock and pop it up with some squares cut into really thin strips. (P.S. – these 3D strips probably would have worked just as well, I just couldn’t find them in my stash lol!)

I totally have more pieces to play with and make a few more of these cards. Love them and their fun and super bright rainbow!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Make sure to stay up to date with the latest news and sales on the CutCardstock Facebook Page!!
