Penguin Friend w/Kinda Cute

Hello friends! Sharing another card using an amazing digi from the Kinda Cute by Patricia shop! This is Penguin (Kinda Cute Store, Etsy) and he is just so adorable!! I love that he is waving hello (or goodbye!) at someone. And also, I’ll be honest, I’ve kinda been in a coloring rut. So being able to do a really simple coloring like this was really nice lol!!

I paired him with some simple black and white… but ran that white piece through an embossing folder to give it some texture. Fun!!

Make sure you stop by the Kinda Cute by Patricia Facebook Group and see what the rest of the team is up to!!

Thank you, Whimsie Doodles

Whimsie Doodles Banner

It is such a bittersweet thing to say goodbye. Today I’m blogging over at Whimsie Doodles for the very last time!!  So I wanted to share with you some of the cards I had made for upcoming posts that won’t get shown!!  And make sure you head on over to the Whimsie Doodles store and grab some of these super cute digis at 75% off before March 16th when they disappear forever!!

This sweetie is Lucky Abby from the middle of the What’s New page.I think I’ve had this Doodlebug paper for FOREVER and finally cut into it to make this card. And of course I had to give her some ginger hair… I had so much fun coloring her up!

This sweetie is Beach Hat Ava from the middle of the Summer Fun Digis Page! I am so excited for summer to get here!! I am really honestly not a beach person but my kids love it and we’re looking forward to a lot more time swimming in the sun!! Maybe I need a big sun hat like this too!!

I colored her up with my Copics and then added her to this super bright summer paper… It’s one of those that is so busy and bright I didn’t know what to do with!! It’s been sitting in my stash for FOREVER just waiting for the right digi to pair with I guess!! haha! And then I turned her into a birthday card… just about any kind of sentiment would have worked but I find that I need birthday cards more than the others so I thought this would be a cute summer birthday card to have on hand!!

This cutie is HapBee Turtle towards the middle of the Freebies page. So cute and so punny, I couldn’t resist!

And finally, another card using this cutie and her kitty!

This sweetie is Bed Time Lizzie towards the bottom of the What’s New page. I colored her up in teal/turquoise this time and am so happy with how she came out!

Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon!! And thank you to Melyssa and all the Whimsie Doodles DT members over the years… it’s been amazing and I am so sad to say goodbye but I’m sure I’ll see you around the craft-iverse!!

Just a Little Note w/Eyelet Outlet

Hi Friends! I’m on the Eyelet Outlet blog today to share another fun project with you!!

Today’s project is a super sweet one featuring the Mail Brads in the Eyelet Outlet store. This set has both envelopes and mailboxes in it and the envelopes have this vintage, browned-edged look. Seriously having a brain-fart and don’t know what else to call the coloring on the envelopes haha!!

I laid out the envelopes across my card like a banner, and then tucked some baker’s twine in behind it to make it look like they were strung out… well… like a banner. lol! I then added some simple bows to each end of the envelope banner and added a simple sentiment to the card and ta-dah!

((On a side note, I think it’s so interesting that this card photo’d as two different colors depending on how the light hit it!))

Thanks for stopping by today and see you again soon!!

A Rainbow of Brush Strokes w/Kat Scrappiness

Hi Friends! I’m on the Kat Scrappiness blog today to share a pair of super fun cards using the new Every Day Brush Strokes stamp set =o)

Today’s cards once again feature the brand-spanking new Every Day Brush Strokes stamp set! I just couldn’t help myself! You know, I really struggled in the beginning with ideas for this set but once I started stamping, I just kept going lol. Love when that happens sometimes.

This first card was SO MUCH FUN. I used the widest brush stroke from the stamp set to create a rainbow down one side of the card. I used colors from a variety of Lawn Fawn ink cube sets, particularly the Tropical, Gazebo, County Fair, and Candy Store ink cube sets. After stamping out the “congratulations” sentiment with my Memento black ink pad, I mounted it on some black cardstock so that the colors stand out even more!

And here’s a close-up of how BEAUTIFUL those colors came out.

The second card I made used the same Lawn Fawn ink cube sets, and the sentiment was stamped with the same Memento black ink pad. I also used the second-largest Stitched Postage Stamp Edge Rectangle dies and popped it up on some 3d squares… and then placed it at an angle for fun!! I tried to make this one like a random paint splatter/brushing, but it came out pretty symmetrical. Whoops!! haha!!

Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon!

Sakura w/LeAnn’s World 101

Hi friends! I just found a brand new digi company and fell in love!! And today I get to share one of my favorite digis from LeAnn’s World 101 Etsy ShopSakura! She is just adorable. In a kick-ass sort of way. haha!

I shared a sneak peek of my coloring of her about a week ago on my Instagram and I couldn’t wait to get her onto a card! Honestly, I was looking for some Asian-themed paper or some paper with stars on it or something… and then came across this older one from We R. I actually had it put aside in a “don’t think I’ll ever use it, maybe give it away” box, and then forgot that I had that box there hahaha!! Good thing I didn’t give it away. This paper is PERFECT for her.

I colored her up with my Copics and then added this sentiment from one of the new March releases at Kat Scrappiness – Everyday Brush Strokes. It as a perfect match!! And I’m so happy with how this card came out!!

Come join us in our FB group too and see what kind of fun contests we have going and what the rest of the DT is up to! Thanks for stopping by, and hope to see you again soon!

Project Life: The Plan + 2018 Week 8

A few days ago I posted a picture of albums and my brand-spanking new Epson PM400. Here it is again… I’m sooo in love with it!!

I don’t have a dedicated space for it, so it just sits in the corner of my workspace until I can figure out a better place for it. But for now, it works because I only really pull it out every weekend to print pictures.

This is such a game changer for me though! I can edit and print from my phone and get pictures straight into their albums! I still plan to do bulk printing at other places… I’m finishing editing our Japan pictures and sending them to Walgreens because there’s going to be 300-ish of them! No way I can or want to print that many at home!!

But going back to the albums and the plan… I’ve switched over to project life style scrapbooking for the most part. I still plan to scrap layouts every once in a while but it’ll be more special events and occasions and all-in-all special pictures. For the rest, I’m going to keep a 12×12 family album that I plan to do weekly. Each kid will also get their own 6×8 album. It’ll be done weekly-ish… it really all depends on what pictures I have for them that week.

And I’m proud to say that I’ve completed a week in our 2018 albums!! Haha. Plan is to stay current and also work backwards when I can. Eventually I’ll get caught up!! Not sure if I’ll do individual kid albums for previous years, but I’ll at least work on our family album.

So this is 2018 week 8. I still need to put the dates/week on my title card but other than that I’m pretty much done! Cards and stickers and embellishments from Ali Edwards Story kits and Studio Calico Documenter kits.

Nothing special… learning how to embellish and more focused on just making this routine than anything!!

And the kids’ albums, starting with Big A’s. I only really put in pictures that contain them. And I have at least one journaling card in here where I ask them to write a couple sentences about the pictures. They’re not the wordiest or most descriptive, so I’m debating on going in and adding a sentence of my own to give context.

Here’s Little A’s. He hid in the room when his cousins came over so I don’t have pictures of him. So he only has one page in here. And I’m okay with that!

And Baby Z’s. He typically has the most pictures in any week because he’s the most willing to take pictures. I don’t think I’ve blinded him enough. Same with him too, I ask him to “write” about the pictures. It usually ends up as scribble-scrabble so I try to add in a little note defining what he’s drawn.

For all albums I need to add in dates. But other than that, I’m done! And proud of myself!!

Thanks for stopping by! See you again soon!

Christmas Tags w/Eyelet Outlet

Hi Friends! I’m on the Eyelet Outlet blog again today to share another fun project with you!!

Today’s project is a set of monogrammed Christmas gift tags featuring some of the super cute washi tape in the Eyelet Outlet store! And yes, I know it’s February, and Christmas is waaaaay off, but it’s never too early to start stocking up on either Christmas crafting supplies or Christmas tags and cards so you’re ready to go once the season hits!!

For these tags, I laid out strips of the Santa WashiTree WashiHo Ho Ho WashiHolly Washi, and ZigZag Washi in Red on a scrap piece of white cardstock that measured 2″ wide. Then I cut the tags down to 3.5″ tall and then punched the scalloped tag top and threaded some red twine.

I used the initials of my oldest son’s good friends (and they’re common enough that I can use them for other people if we end up getting his friends something that doesn’t need a tag!)

Super easy peasy and a great way to use up both scrap paper and a handful of rolls of washi tape that I know everyone is stashing in their craft supplies haha!! Thanks for stopping by today and see you again soon!!

Lattes and Friends!

Whimsie Doodles Banner

I’m blogging over at Whimsie Doodles today with a super fun card using some very different paper!!

This sweetie is Latte Lizzie towards the middle of the What’s New page. She’s just adorable! And I said this is very different paper because it’s actually from a boy’s monster-themed line!! But the dots were just too cute and the colors were just too perfect for her, don’t you think??

Thanks for stopping by and I’ll see you again soon!!
