Thank you Flowers w/HH

I’m back again with another card from Handmade Harbour!  We’ve actually been relieved of our DT duties since the summer but I wanted to make sure to support someone who has become such a wonderful friend.  If you missed last week’s post, Handmade Harbour, like a handful of Euro-based digi stamp companies, is closing its doors at the end of the year due to the new VAT laws that take effect Jan 2015.  So once again, if you were thinking of grabbing any of Handmade Harbour’s super cute digis, make sure you get them before the end of the year while you still can!!!

I’m using digi stamp #526 – Thank You Girl w/Flowers on this card.  She is just too cute.  I love her polka-dot rainboots!!  And this paper… *sigh*… super old Pebbles Inc paper scraps and I used up the last of the big bits for this card.

Make sure you check out Handmade Harbour!!  I’ve got a handful more HH cards to post before the end of the year to try and spread the word!!

Sketch Saturday DT Call

Sketch Saturday is having a DT Call (the requested DT call info is at the end of this post!) and I thought I’d try for it since all of my recent crafting is only made possible thanks to sketches!!  Here’s the card I made for the call using a sketch from Sketch Saturday week #332

SS332-2014-Debra

And here’s my take on it:

I used this guy (from Kenny K) on a past project but just absolutely love him and LOVE COLORING HIM.  So I made another card with him… and he’s still so much fun!!!  That’s it for today!  Thanks for stopping by!! …unless you’re here to see my DT app… If so, then continue on below!!

DT Call info:

This is for the Sketch Saturday DT Call ending 11/30/14.

My name is Kelli but most people call me kel.  I am located in beautiful Kaneohe, Hawaii (USA).  I am 32-yo and happily married, a non-traditional college student double majoring in History and Asian studies who is currently on break… I just had my 3rd kiddo 2 months ago and have been re-finding my way to crafting.  As with the older 2 kids, I had Hyperemesis Gravidarium at the beginning of my pregnancy, was on IV fluids and bed rest from February-May, and the strain it took on my body took until I gave birth on 9/30 to heal. I am still not 100% physically but am fully functional now… if that makes any sense!  So there is a big gap in my blogging and creating this year but I am working back to a more ‘regular’ schedule, and it gets easier to find/re-establish a routine every day!  With a newborn in hand, I can’t sit for hours and craft at whim like I used to and have taken to using sketches to get a jump-start on crafting (see the bottom of this post for info about my new crafting system)!!  I am also always looking for inspiration and absolutely love making new friends from around the world.  I’d love to join your team and hopefully inspire others too!

I currently design for Diane’s Daydream Designs. I kind of design for Handmade Harbour – due to new VAT laws, HH is closing up shop at the end of the year.  We have been relieved of our DT duties for HH since the summer but I will continue to post projects until the owner does close her doors… she has become a wonderful friend and I want to continue to support her for as long as I can do so!!  I am also the blog/challenge/DT coordinator for Kitty Bee Designs and their Aloha Friday Challenges.  I have no creation requirement for this DT but handle most of the ‘admin’ stuff behind the scenes.  2015 will find me designing for a couple more DT’s that I’m not allowed to mention publicly yet!!  My previous DT work can be found at the ‘Resume + Winners Badges’ tab above or by clicking here.

Here are links to my 3 favorite projects:
– Christmas Card Sunday Reboot!
Whale of a Hello!
– Love You!

And I can be reached at kacopan@gmail.com.  I think that about does it for my application!  Thank you for this opportunity and I look forward to hearing back from you!!

Sweet Sketch Wednesday w/DDD

Daydream Designs Store LOGO

Diane’s Daydream Designs is sponsoring Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2!!  Okay, so I know this is posting at 7pm on Tuesday for me, but it’s midnight on the East Coast and that means it’s Wednesday and time for a new challenge!  This was a super cute sketch to work with… I have been making a lot of square cards recently and I really like the shape!! Here’s the sketch for this week:

Sweet+Sketch+190+Floppy+Latte

and there’s a twist… use buttons and/or bows.

I TOTALLY FORGOT about the twist while making the card… I did look through my buttons to see if there was something I could use to finish the card but the only thing that popped out at me was these enamel dots!!!  But there’s a bow in the image… does that count??  I must have subconsciously remembered the twist while choosing my image!!  haha.  I used this super cute peppermint & snowflakes paper from the Sweet Warmups Digi Papers set, the candy cane image from the Sweet Warmups Color digi stamp set and that adorable sentiment from the Sweet Warmups Sentiment set.  I love that these candy canes aren’t your typical red and white colors!!  And that sentiment is just SO cute and sweet.

Hope you’re having a wonderful week!!  Make sure you check out this sketch challenge, it’s so much fun!!  …Although, I am TOTALLY biased toward sketch challenges!! haha!!

Happy Birthday!!

Here’s another card from that Pebbles Inc Lil’ Buddy line… this time on BLACK.  I haven’t done many black-base cards, especially not one with this much black showing!!  But I REALLY LIKE IT!!!!!!  I wanted to keep it simple to focus on the super cute giraffe.  Everything from this line is seriously too cute.  Too bad it’s super old and discontinued… like so much else in my stash.  haha!!

Hope you’re having a wonderful week!!

Christmas Card Sunday 11/23

Happy Sunday!!  This week’s Christmas Card Sunday features my absolute favorite wintery icon… a snowman!  With no snow here in Hawaii (at least where I live) it’s fun to play with snowflake and snowman images.  I’m sure those of you who are frozen in the snow don’t necessarily feel the same way as I do about these frosty friends!!

I used a sketch (surprise, surprise!) from The Deconstructed Sketch #2 for this card.  Here’s the sketch:

Sketch-2

And my card, featuring another freebie from Whimsie Doodles.

I punched the snowflakes from scrap white cardstock and then stickled them for some bling!  Speaking of which… I’m running low on stickles!  Where do you get yours from or if you use a different brand, what do you use and how do you like it??  Thanks in advance!

Happy Roost! w/DDD

Daydream Designs Store LOGO

Today’s card for Diane’s Daydream Designs features a BIRD.  As previously stated, I HATE BIRDS.  Some super cute digi birds have warmed me up though, so I think I just hate birds in real life.  haha.  No offense to bird lovers out there.  I’m just definitely a cat and dog kind of girl!!

This little chicky is from the Country Chicks Color Set (also available in Outlines).  I love how her body is polka-dotted… like she’s been paper pieced!  I’m also using the Country Morning Digi Papers set and pulled the sentiment from the Home to Roost Composite Set.  Phew that’s a lot of sets for this one card!!  The last thing I added to this card (besides the cardstock) was that beautiful red ribbon… I think it was wrapping on something I bought because I definitely don’t have more of it and I wish I did!!  It’s a nice wide grosgrain in that rich Christmas red color.  Love it!

Happy Saturday!!  To my friends in the states, are you planning anything for Thanksgiving? We usually split our day between J’s parent’s house, and 2 of my aunts’ houses (one my mom’s side, one my dad’s side) for Thanksgiving.  It makes it a long day but we get to see all of our family so that’s nice… and with Baby Z here, I know people are going to want to see him!!

Whale of a Hello!!

Hey all – Just popping in really quick to share a card I made for my Etsy store… yup, I’m going to open an Etsy store!!  I’ve actually had an account with them and a ‘store’ for a few years… what I mean is that I input information to set up the store but never actually did anything with it.  But now being home with Baby Z full time and not working AT ALL, I want to try and pull my weight around here and every little bit helps, right??

Today’s card features products by Pebbles Inc’s Lil’ Buddy line.  How cute is that whale?!?!  I really like how simple this card is and I think it came out wonderfully!!

That’s it for me today… still nursing this cold.  Hoping it’ll go away soon, I don’t want to be sick on Thanksgiving!!  Plus it’s exhausting taking care of myself and the kiddos!!

Beach Day!

Today’s layout (yay for another layout!) comes to us from a PageMaps sketch from August 2012.  I always have issues with white space but this time I think I did okay.

I used paper + stickers from Echo Park’s Splash collection.  I got this in an older kit (2011-ish maybe?) and wish I had known about this company then so I could pick up more of their super cute stuff. This is the dogs’ first beach day – we had them for about 2 months before we could do this.  Peace, being a stray, had to finish up getting her shots so she could be social.  She was taken in off the streets at around 4 months of age so imagine myself or my husband carrying this 30-something-pound puppy around the vet’s office because she wasn’t supposed to touch the floor.  haha.

Picture isn’t awesome… I’ve definitely got shooting cards down in the light box but layouts?  That’s a totally different story and one I’m definitely working on.  Thanks for stopping by today!!  I’m definitely sick so will be trying to lay low for a while but we’ll see how long that lasts!  The tylenol tends to kick in and then I do stuff until I feel sick again and by the end of the day I’m just DONE.  Sometimes it’s not good being such a busybody!!  Wish me well so I get better soon!!!

Happy New Home w/HH

So first off… super sad news.  Due to the new VAT laws that take effect Jan 2015, my dear friend Wendy, the owner of Handmade Harbour, has decided to close her doors at the end of this year.  I am so saddened by the news, but wanted to spread the word that if you were thinking of grabbing any of Handmade Harbour’s super cute digis, to get them before the end of the year while you still can!!!

Handmade Harbour digi stamps

I’m using digi stamp #543 – Happy New Home on this card.  A friend of mine just bought a house across the highway from us so it’s going in the mail to her!!!  I just adore this image… and the tire swing on the tree!!!

Make sure you check out Handmade Harbour!!  I’ll be back posting more HH cards every week through the end of the year to try and spread the word!!

Christmas Card Sunday 11-16

Once again I’m working through the Jillibean Soup 6×6 pad.  I should do a roundup when I finally finish working with this pad to show you all the cards I made!  I’ve got quite a bit more pad to work through though, so it’ll be a little while!

If you don’t know what I’m talking about, I talk about it in last week’s CCS post.  The basic idea is to take one 6×6 paper pad + matching card stock and use sketches to create as many cards as possible, working from large PP pieces down to scrap bits and try to use up every bit of paper from that pad so youʻre not left with a whole mess of scraps.

This week I used Mojo Monday Sketch #342… AGAIN.  haha.  I loved last week’s card so much I made more!  And once again I’m using embossed panels… But I didn’t have enough of one design/color so I mixed it up a little bit.  Still VERY happy with this layout!  I definitely think it’s going to be one of my go-to layouts from now on!!

IMG_8238 IMG_8237

Thanks for stopping by!  I’ll see you again soon because my crafting mojo is BACK!! haha!
