Bee Hi!!

This was a super fun, simple card to put together.  And I rarely do this simple but I really like it… Usually I’m concerned with filling empty space but I think it works this time!  And this is another odd size for me – 4.25″ square.

Short post today… Trying to figure out what to do for Halloween costumes this year!  Only 10 days until Halloween, yikes! I better get some more Halloween goodness on this blog soon!!

Thinking of You!!

I absolutely LOVE this paper line (Rainbow by Party by Amy Locurto for Pebbles Inc) because it is so bright and fun.  This card I actually made 5″x7″ because I wanted to include the full 3″x4″ cutout card with the borders.  I think this might be the 3rd 5″x7″ card I’ve made since I restarted blogging at the beginning of 2013! Definitely not a size I make all that often.

I think the hardest part about this card was threading the baker’s twine through the button and tying that big ‘ol bow.  But I think I really like how loopy that bow came out… what do you think??  See you again soon!

Happy Place!

Hello again!  Today is just a quick post to share another card from that card class… I absolutely love this yellow swirly background paper!  BTW: today is my official due date!  I can’t believe that I’ve missed so much of the year with my bloggy friends!!!  I’m so sorry to have disappeared for so long!!

The ‘happy place’ card is actually a 3″x4″ cutout from a 12×12 sheet, and I trimmed the bottom to make a banner.  And the red heart border is the backside of the perforated barcode strip from the bottom of another sheet of PP.  Love that there’s no waste!!

Thanks for swinging by again!  See you again soon!

Meet Baby Z

This is Baby Z.10256219_10152684321623726_105959241650776376_n

His actual name is Alezender, pronounced like the normal Alexander without as hard of a X/K sound (like “alezander”).  But we like to call him Zen for short.  His name?  It came to me in a dream before he was even a possibility.

He was born on Tuesday, September 30th at 11:34pm, weighing in at 7-lbs 1-oz and measuring 20″ long.  I started having contractions around 1045am, labored at home until about 615pm, and then headed over to the hospital.  When I got settled in at around 7pm, I was 5cm dilated, 70% effaced and he was in the -2 position (still high up).  I took my epidural at 8pm, and a little after 11pm, my water broke and he dropped FAST.  The nurses called my doctor and he got there at 11:30pm.  While putting on his scrubs, Dr. started me pushing… 3 pushes and 4 minutes later baby was here!  haha.  Seriously the easiest labor and delivery EVER.  I’m so thankful and blessed he was such an easy birth.

HOWEVER, he was supposed to be my October baby!!!  And he couldn’t wait the measly 26 minutes to make it until midnight… haha.  Oh well, he’s here and he’s healthy and that’s all that matters!!

Daddy J is very happy.

Baby Z is such an easy baby… I know he’s only been around for 4 days now but so far I am going to jinx it and say taking care of him is a breeze!!!

I’m super happy too.

His brothers are SO proud and SO happy to finally have him with us.  Big A repeatedly tells me that he can’t believe it, that he thinks this is a dream.  Little A’s face just lights up when he sees or spends time with Baby Z… although you couldn’t tell from the picture.  SOMEONE was too preoccupied with his iPod.

Thanks for stopping by to meet Baby Z.  I’m still working on catching up on crafting and blogging but someone else takes more priority!! haha.  The kids are on Fall Break next week and J is on vacation so I’m hoping to be able to get all caught up on housework and crafts… sometimes I forget that I just had a baby and am supposed to be resting.  I already got scolded for doing 3 loads of laundry after getting home from the hospital on Thursday (although I did one load Friday too haha shhhhhhh!).  I didn’t nest as hard at the end of my pregnancy like I did with Little A, and I think I’m going through my nesting phase now!  But I promise to take time to relax and just enjoy him!!

Hello Friends!!

Today marks my 39th week of pregnancy, and I am off to the doctor to see if this boy is ready to make his entrance any time soon!  And I am looking forward to being comfortably crafty again… I craft on the floor or at a low table while sitting on the floor and neither bending over nor sitting comfortably on the floor hasn’t been possible with this belly in the way!  haha. But I have slowly been getting things done… I colored a bunch of images at my desk (that is okay for me!) and matched them up with papers, just need to slap them together to make some new cards!!

So in the spirit of getting back into blogging I thought I’d share some cards I created for a class last year.  Yes I know, LAST YEAR.  It’s been a while!!!!!  I’ve been trying to get back into the crafty mood by pulling out premade, precut kits to just get my hands working again.  I am TOTALLY spreading these out to cover a bunch of days because I am so short on projects to share and am crafting so slowly!!  So you’ll see a bunch from the same paper line this month!!

I’ll be back to share what the doctor says… and eventually (hopefully SOONER than later!) share some new baby pictures!!

Congrats Puppy w/HH

OMG I AM BACK!!  haha.

This is the first card I’ve made since the beginning of FEBRUARY… so bear with me and give me a little time to regain my mojo!!  And I know the picture came out a little dark… gotta give me some time to get back into the swing of photographing my stuff correctly too!  haha.

This adorable Puppy with Stick image (found in the NEW category!) is for Handmade Harbour’s Midweek Paper Party… the theme this week is Summer Fun.  I thought this was a bright, sunny paper and this puppy definitely looks like he’s having fun!

Hope you come join us over at HH.  I’d like to say extra special thanks to Wendy for being patient with me and letting me come back at my own pace.  So sorry it took so long but I’m back!!

Gender reveal!

I know I’m a bit over my weekly blogging plan and a reveal of just who this baby is but I was busy cleaning up in here!  haha.  It’s still a huge mess and I still don’t have my stamina and strength back so I get thoroughly exhausted these days but little by little things are getting better!

And without further ado….

Yup, it’s ANOTHER boy.  haha.

That’s is for this post… I realized that I promised a reveal and never gave it to you!  Until next time… and hopefully with something crafty!

i’m (kinda sorta) baaaaack!

I am almost 19 weeks along and things are finally on a true upswing. I got off IV last week and got my PICC line removed earlier this week… we celebrated by taking the kids and the dogs to the beach yesterday.  I still can’t soak the site (no tubs, pools, etc) until next week but I can shower without wrapping my arm and that in itself is wonderful.  Still on nausea meds and having fits once in a while of unsettled food or holding down the vom but for the most part things are great on the food and drink front.  I haven’t thrown up in about a month so that in itself says something I think!

I am working to build up my stamina and strength though… For the most part I don’t need to rely on a wheelchair to get around because I don’t tire as quickly as I used to, but I am still adjusting to doing more than laying in bed and sitting up to eat or walk to the bathroom like I’ve been doing since February!  And in building up my stamina I’m working on building up my strength too.  I’m at -24 lbs for this pregnancy… but hey, at my worst point I was at -31 lbs so I’ve gained some weight back!!  My superwoman muscles are non-existent!!

Today marks the first time I’m sitting at my work desk on my work computer in three months. And the main thing I realized after working to clean up for almost 4 hours in my office is that THIS PLACE IS A COMPLETE MESS.  This room naturally accumulates junks and the overflow of clutter from the main house, but three months of me not dealing any of it (which means no one has dealt with it) means there’s quite a bit of it. Add to that my husband taking over my work desk mainly to use the computer but also because all our bills and paperwork got sorted from my desk (because I’m the one who did it!)… he has kinda made the space ‘his’ which means piles of stuff and nothing in the right place.

So even though I have the energy to probably get back to work and pick up on orders and building inventory for the end of the year, I don’t have the space and am so completely overwhelmed by the clutter in here that it’ll probably take me the rest of the month to be okay.

But I do plan on coming back to blog every week and eventually get something crafty done and posted too!  And next week Saturday is my big gender-revealing ultrasound (provided baby cooperates!), so be sure to stop back and see if it’s a boy like Big A wants or a girl like Daddy J wants!!  Little A and I just want a happy, healthy baby so we’ll be happy either way!

Thanks for stopping by and sticking with me.  And thank you to those who have left such wonderful and supportive comments while I’ve been out.  I haven’t had a chance to make the blog rounds but just know I appreciate you all being there for me!

Welcome to the 2nd Trimester!!

I am officially 14 weeks today, and starting my 2nd trimester!  I can’t tell you how excited I am that the worst 1/3 of my pregnancy is behind me.

Since I blogged last, I have, over the course of a couple weeks each, worked in protein shakes, and then solid food, and then food + liquid into my diet.  I am now at a point where I can eat 1-2 meals a day, and hold down about 1/2 the liquid I need to survive (you are supposed to get 2 liters of fluid a day and I get one through my IV and around one through drinks).

I am down to 2 different meds daily (versus the 3-4 I was taking before) – diclegis once at nighttime, and zofran 2x a day (versus the 3x a day I NEEDED to take before, so yay for lowering that!).  But believe me, I know when the zofran wears off and I need to take my next dose.  I don’t think my nausea is gone, just finally under control.  And speaking of nausea, I throw up maybe 2x a week now, versus 4x daily when I first got my IV.  I still have my nauseous moments, but am usually able to either keep it down and let it settle, or if it’s bad enough, force myself to sleep through it.

The original goal was to be off IV and meds by May, but it seems like ‘sometime in May at the earliest’ is more realistic.  I know, I know, when I am done being sick and can get off IV is not something I have ANY say in.  haha.  I am grateful for the IV and the multivitamin + folic acid I get through my IV… I don’t have to stress about forcing myself to drink enough (because the 1 liter I do manage to drink throughout the day is at times forced down or forcibly kept down), and I really don’t have to stress about my diet and forcing myself to eat enough of the right things for this baby.  My nausea may be under control but my food aversions are still rampant and at this point, I will do whatever I need to in order to avoid throwing up again.

Baby is healthy and moving around a lot, which is reassuring.  I started feeling him/her kick from the inside… meaning I can’t yet feel it with my hands so I can’t share it with the kids or with J but hopefully I can share this feeling with them soon!  Dr. said we can find out gender closer to week 20, so I still have another SIX WEEKS until we find out if Big A gets his boy or if Daddy J gets his girl!!  Haha.  And we are definitely going to find out gender!  I don’t do well with secrets!!

That’s it for my update.  I am slowly getting my energy back but it is a very slow-going process.  We have been able to go out shopping but I either need to borrow my dad’s wheelchair, or limit my walking (mostly leaning on the cart lol) to no more than 20-30 minutes with tons of rest stops in between!  I will keep you guys updated on anything new… but thanks for stopping by and I miss you and will see you soon!!

Yup, it’s a baby!!

I am taking a brief hiatus from blogging and crafting… But believe me it’s not by choice!!

I am a little over 9 weeks pregnant! And believe me, the past 3 weeks have been HELL for me and my family. Pregnancy for me comes with a condition called hyperemesis gravidarum which basically means extreme nausea and vomiting to the point of dehydration and weight loss.

Since Feb 12th, my first prenatal appointment, I’ve lost 19.5lbs, been to the ER 3x before getting approved for a PICC line (long term iv line) and iv home therapy, and at this point, do not have the ability to drink or eat. Don’t get me wrong, I try every day but 99% of the time everything comes up.

So I barely have the ability to function on my own and walk the 10 feet from my bed to bathroom, let alone walk downstairs and across the house to craft! My kids are being taken care of (and I can’t tell you how much I miss everyday with them!) by my husband, my parents and my in-laws but it still guilts me that I can’t even help them with their homework or really stand to be around them – too much energy, movement, smells for me to handle right now. Lol. But they understand and are excited for a new baby!

I’ll check back in periodically and update you guys on my condition when I can… The HG lasted 4 months with Big A and 6 months with Little A so I’m expecting to be out until at least May.

Until then, take care my friends! I’ll definitely miss you guys!!
